Kenyan international goalkeeper Ian Otieno kept a clean sheet in Zesco United’s goalless draw against Nakambala Leopards in Zambia top tier match played on Wednesday 5 February at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Otieno played the full 90 minutes of his debut match, joining his new Zesco teammates last week after leaving another Zambian Super League side, Red Arrows.
The 26-year-old goalkeeper impressed massively with a good display and eye-catching save to tip one shot onto the post helping secure a point for his side.
His team, Zesco, were the better side throughout the match enjoying a 52% to 48% ball possession.
They however failed to convert three of their shots on target at the same time not utilizing five of their corners to see the back of the net.
The draw leaves the team ranked fifth on the 18 team log with 35 points, three points behind league leaders Nkana after 19 rounds of play.
Otieno will have little rest as Zesco are expected to play another catch-up game on Sunday 9 February away against bottom-placed Mufulira Wanderers at Shinde Stadium
