Pavol Safranko: Mamelodi Sundowns Reach Agreement To Sign Slovakian Striker

South Africa Premier Soccer League giants Mamelodi Sundowns have reached an agreement to sign Slovakian striker Pavol Safranko for a fee of €700,000.

According to reports, the Masandawana won the race for the signature of the Romanian Liga 1 side Sepsi OSK attacker descent despite facing competition from several European clubs.

The 26-year-old will join Naturena-based side in the summer after an agreement was reached on Saturday as per KickOff Magazine.

The move will been a record sale for Sespi OK but Šafranko’s former club AB Aalborg in Denmark will have 45% of the deal due to a transfer clause inserted when he joined the club in August 2019.

Safranko, who boasts an impressive record on the field, has scored over 70 goals and a decent 17 assists in 240 appearances at various European teams.

In the current Liga 1 season, Safranko has netted seven goals and four assists for Sepsi in 14 appearances which is said to have attracted Sundowns.

Sundowns made the first bid of around R12.4 million which was rejected by Romanian Liga 1 outfit in February.

The ten-time capped Slovak enjoyed stints in his home country, Denmark and Scotland before emerging as a leading marksman with the ambitious Romanian club.
