Percy Tau Linked With A Move To Anderlecht

Al Ahly forward Percy Tau is nearing a return to Anderlecht almost two years to the day since he departed from Brussels.

Egyptian outlet Sada El-Balad , as quoted by KickOff, states that the two clubs are in regular contact with the desire to strike a deal mutual.

It is reported  Anderlecht have  launched an initial bid amounting USD 2 million in an attempt to land the services of the 28-year-old.

“The Belgian club Anderlecht offered Al-Ahly management $2 million to buy Percy Tau once and for all in the upcoming summer window,” reads the report.

“Al Ahly officials reserved the value of Anderlecht’s offer to include Percy Tau and requested $4 million (approx. R67,7 million) to agree to complete the deal at a minimum in the next summer transfer window in the new season.”

Tau joined Al Ahly from Brighton & Hove Albion for a transfer fee of £1.6million back in the summer of 2021.

He was by Brighton from Mamelodi Sundowns in 2018 and because of concerns over his readiness for the Premier League and his ability to get a work permit, he was loaned to Union St Gilloise in the Belgian second division.

After being named player of the year, he was at Club Brugge on loan last season where they were crowned champions before signing a loan deal at Anderlecht.

He was recalled b y Albion in January 2021 after spending two-and-a-half years on loan in Belgium.

The South Africa international has since scored eight goals in 28 appearances for the Egyptian Premier League club.
