Al Ahly coach Pisto Mosimane has signed a two-year contract extension until the summer of 2024, the club has confirmed.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach originally signed a deal until 2022 when the 57-year-old took charge in October 2020.
Mosimane, who coached South Africa from 2010 to 2012, had been linked with one of the UAE Gulf Pro League’s biggest clubs after the end of recently concluded FIFA Club World Cup.
The South African arrived in Cairo from Mamelodi Sundowns in October 2020 and has since enjoyed success with the club as he clinched back-to-back CAF Champions League titles, two CAF Super Cups, the Egypt Cup, and two Club World Cup bronze medals.
“Al Ahly are delighted to announce Pitso Mosimane has signed a contract extension with the club for two more years,” read part of the statement published on the club’s official website.
“The coach and his assistants signed the new contract, ensuring they will remain at the helm until 2024.

The Red Devils are currently in South Africa preparing to face his former side Mamelodi Sundown in a CAF Champions League Group A fixture at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Saturday.
