Porto defender Eulanio Chipela Gomes alias Nanu has been named in Guinea-Bissau’s final squad for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 27-year-old is among the 24-man squad entirely made up of players based in Europe that was picked by coach Baciro Cande on Thursday.
Among the common names on the list are goalkeeper Jonas Mendes, and forwards Piquete Djassi Silva and Frédéric Mendy.
Left out of the pre-selection were former captain Mendes Lopes Zezinho, Toni Silva- the former Mamelodi Sundowns striker now at FC Tobol and Ho Chi Minh City’s striker Amildo Balde, formerly on the books of Maritiomo.
Guinea-Bissau hey will commence their campaign against Sudan on January 11 at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua.
The Djurtus will tackle Egypt four days later at the same venue before taking on Augustine Eguavoen’s Super Eagles on January 19 at the Stade Ahmadou Ahidjo, Yaounde.
