Preview: AFCON 2017 Semi Finals

Burkina Faso and seven-time winners Egypt will face off in the first semi final of AFCON while Ghana and Cameroon will tussle it out on Thursday.

BURKINA FASO V EGYPT

Egypt secured their first victory over Morocco in 31 years to reach the 2017 AFCON semi finals. They have won the tournament seven times. The Pharaos however have not progressed to the semi-final stage since 2010.

Burkina Faso is yet to win a game against Egypt as the two have faced off six times and managed only two draws.

Egypt will go into the Semi-final without Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny and striker Marwan Mohsen. Coach Hector Cuper said, “Mohsen looks to have a serious problem with a knee but we will need to carry out more detailed tests”
