PSG Midfielder Idrissa Gueye Close To Joining Everton

Paris St-Germain and Senegal midfilder Idrissa Gueye is on the verge of rejoining English Premier League side Everton.

The 32-year-old midfielder has been placed up for sale and the Toffees have opened talks to sign him as they are keen to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

Everton are expected to pay £8.4million to bring Gueye back to Goodison Park, with the midfielder reported to be at Merseyside to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms.

Gueye joined PSG  from Everton in July 2019  for a transfer fee of about £28.7 million (€32m).

The Lions of Teranga star possesses plenty of Premier League experience, as he had a stint with Aston Villa in 2015, having joined from French side Lille before moving to Everton a season later after the Villans were relegated.

The midfielder has shone at Parc des Princes since joining PSG, helping the French club claim their third straight Ligue 1 title in his maiden season with a goal in 20 league appearances.

Gueye, who is a product of the Diambars Academy in Senegal, has scored seven goals in 94 appearances for the Teranga Lions.

PSG won the Ligue 1 title last season, but the Parisians are eager to win the UEFA Champions League in the upcoming new 2022/23 campaign.
