Raja Casablanca Sack Coach Faouzi Benzarti

Raja Club Athletic has fired coach Faouzi Benzarti following the team’s poor run of results in the Moroccan Botola Pro League.

The Green Eagles have had a frustrating campaign start in the 2022/2023 campaign drawing two and losing one of their three matches in the league.

After a 2-2 draw against OC Safi , Raja fell to 1-0 to minnows UTC before being held to a one-all draw by Moghreb Tetouan at home.

Benzarti had opened up on his frustrations at his charges following the poor results and ewent on to declare that he was ready to leave

“I cannot accept these modest results and far from meeting our expectations. Incomprehensible things are happening. Now, we absolutely have to find solutions to move forward. I am ready to leave immediately,” he said.

Raja Casablanca have  also confirmed that they have also parted ways with two other members of the technical committee  Hilal Tayer and Abdelilah Fahmi.

Benzarti had been re-appointed as Raja Casablanca manager in July following the departure t veteran Moroccan coach Rachid Taouss.

The 72-year-old Benzarti started his career as head coach in 1979 with US Monastir before he moved to lead Etoile du Sahel and then Club Africain.

The Tunisian coach returned to Etoile du Sahel, US Monastir and then Club Africain in 2013.
