Under contract with Raja Casablanca of Morocco, French gaffer Patrice Carteron is being linked with Gabon’s national team managerial vacant job.

Gabon’s FA are in the hunt for a new manager for The Panthers following the dismissal of Daniel Cousins.

An erstwhile Wolverhampton Wanderers star-man, Cousins was shown the exit door after failing to qualify Gabon to this year’s scheduled Nations Cup.

His departure has left a void on the managerial seat amid reports former Al Ahly and current Raja Casablanca gaffer Patrice Carteron is a potential replacement.

The 48-year-old French-born last headed a national selection in 2013 which ended on a high, helping the vast West African country Mali to their highest FIFA ranking at 21st as The Eagles finished at third under his tutelage.

However, Patrice faces rivalry for the post with compatriot Didier Six and Jean-Guy Wallemme all believed to be interested in managing Gabon.
