Rayon Sports Goalkeeper Yves Kimenyi Joins SC Kiyovu

SC Kiyovu continue to bolster their squad and have announced the signing of a new goalkeeper in the form of Rayon Sports stopper Yves Kimenyi.

The Rwandese international agreed personal terms before he put pen to the dotted lines on the two-year employment contract with the Kigali outfit that hosts their home matches at the Amahoro National  Stadium.

The development was duly confirmed by one of the player’s representatives who spoke on condition of anonymity.

“Yes. Yves Kimenyi signed a two year deal with SC Kiyovu. The club compensated Rayon Sports and everything is now settled. We wish Kimenyi the very best in his career,” the representative said.

The former league champions, last week signed left-back Eric Gisa Irambona also from Rayon and Nigerian striker Samson Babua.

Kiyovu are also reported to be in talks with Rayon’s attacking midfielder Oumar Sidibé and could put pen on paper in the coming days.

The fans of six-time Rwanda champions have in the past become accustomed to seeing the club bring in a plethora of new signings, but in the last few years the ‘open cheque book’ has been severely crippled.
