Rayon To Sign Improved Sponsorship Deal With Skol

Rwanda Premier League giants Rayon Sport and their shirt sponsors Skol have agreed on a new and improved deal to be signed in a few weeks.

A source privy to the deal has confirmed to Ducor Sports that all parties have agreed to a three-year deal worth Rwf450 million.

Since the beginning of the week, there have been talks as the previous two-year agreement worth Rwf66 million is set to expire after the resumption of current season which is currently under suspension.

“It is a very lucrative deal and will be unveiled in the next few weeks. I cannot reveal further details for now but it is a reasonable deal and the club will be very happy,” the source, who did not want to be named, told Ducor Sports.

In the new deal, Skol will provide the club with kits worth Rwf25 million, training base worth Rwf48 million and accommodation for the team worth Rwf24 million.

The Belgian brewery have been the main sponsors of the nine-time champion since 2014 and have been providing the club with balls, jerseys, and other related equipment used in training and competitions as well as offering financial support.

Rayon, who are expected to take the league and participate in next season’s Confederation of African Football (CAF) championships, have also been approached by other potential sponsors who the source said are not in conflict with the main sponsor.

“We’ll look at the proposals and if they are not in conflict with the main sponsor, we will welcome them,” the source added.

The sponsorship deal with Skol that has now lasted six years has removed a huge burden off Rayon who were hitherto faced by financial difficulties.
