Red Arrows Midfielder Joins Zesco United

Red Arrows attacking midfielder Bruce Musakanya has joined Zesco United FC on a two-year-deal subject to completing medicals.

Red Arrows attacking midfielder Bruce Musakanya has joined Zesco United FC on a two-year-deal subject to completing medicals.

Media reports surfaced over the past weekend that the 26-year-old Zambia international will be unveiled by coach George Lwandamina and play for Zega Mambo next season.

Zesco United technical Chairman Peter Mutale confirmed the news on Saturday describing Musakanya as an intelligent player who will make an instant impact at the club.

“It’s with profound excitement that we welcome Bruce Musakanya from Red Arrows. Musakanya has signed a two-year loan deal with us,” said Mutale.

Despite the media reports suggesting that Forest Rangers were also interested in bringing the player to Ndola, the eight-time Zambia Super League champions managed to win the race for the player’s signature.

Musakanya is expected to sharpen Zesco attack as they embark on a journey to reclaim the MTN/FAZ Super League title.

“I am very excited to sign for a big club like ZESCO United Football Club. My aim is to work hard and help the team win the league and qualify for CAF next season,” said Musakanya.

“It was unfortunate that the team didn’t qualify for continental football owing to the fact that the league ended prematurely due to COVID-19.

“It is my mission to win my first career league title with ZESCO United. This is a big opportunity for me. I will work hard to make everyone happy at the club.”

Zesco provided some background of their new star saying he is known for his dribbling skills, ability to provide assists and his knack to score goals at will.
