Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano is confident his side can secure CAF Champions League group stage spot on Friday when they meet Zamalek in the return leg of the second preliminary round.
The Brewers failed to take advantage in on Sunday as they went down 1-0, a result that condemns the Kenyan champions to go for their qualification in Alexandria on October 22.
And their head coach, Robert Matano has no doubt that his men will turn things around against the White Knights.
“I know it is possible. The game is not yet over and we will give our all in the return tie. We have seen them and we have now known what to do to contain them. We will work on a good game plan and I believe we will get a result,” said the tactician.
“We played with a lot of fear in the first leg and we couldn’t stick to our game. We will try to correct that and hopefully we can score some goals.”
His sentiments were echoed by team captain Eugene Asike who believes the team can inspire a win in Alexandria.
“I believe we have what it takes because we are a good side. We only had some mistakes in the first leg which we have worked to correct and I believe if we pull ourselves together, we can be able to turn this round,” Asike says.
“The players are really motivated because they want to do something positive. The belief is high and the confidence is also high so it is just up to us to go to the pitch and do our best,” he added.
Should they get eliminated by Zamalek, the Kenyans will drop to the CAF Confederations Cup where they will take on one of the 16 teams which would have qualified into the play-off round.
