RS Berkane Announce Capture Of Nigerien Striker Victorien Adebayor

Moroccan giants RS Berkane have announced the signing of Nigerien forward Victorien Adebayor on a four-year contract.

The 25-year-old forward is joining from Niger top flight side Union Sportive de la Gendarmerie Nationale (USGN) where he was polific in front of goal.

In a post on Twitter, Berkane said the player has had a successful medical and officially joined the club until 2026.

“Official, Victorian Adebayor is a new player in the Orange Battalion on a four-year contract,” the tweet reads.

“Welcome to Berkane, Victorien Adebayor! .”

Adebayor started  his career in 2014 at 18 years of age with AS Douanes in Niger before moving to Europe three years later to sign for France’s US Raon l’Etape.

His stay in France was cut short and he subsequently returned to Niger with USGN two months later.

The sharp striker found his way  abroad after just six months , this time to Ghana where he plied his trade with Benchem United.

He was snapped by Inter Allies and wowed football loving fans who accompanied his elegance and artistry with applause.

Adebayor was signed by Danish side Hoge from Inter Allies owing to his outstanding performances in the Ghanaian domestic top-flight.

HB Koge loaned him to Egyptian Premier League side ENNPI in September 2021 on a season-long deal.

Adebayor has 44 caps for the Niger national team and has scored 17 goals. He recently struck twice in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifications against Djibouti.
