RS Berkane Coach Florent Ibenge Out Of Danger After Nasty Road Accident

RS Berkane coach Florent Ibenge has been discharged from Mohamed VI University Hospital following a nasty accident along Saidia road in Berkane Monday morning.

Ibenge, who steered the Oranges to the African Confederation Cup semifinals on Sunday, came out of the accident with minor injuries.

According to the Moroccan club, doctors conducted scans and were able to detect a spinal cord injury and is responding well to treatment.

“Our team coach Florent Ibenge was involved in a car accident after returning from the training session and was taken to Mohammed VI University Hospital,” the club said in a statement.

“After carrying out the necessary medical examinations, it is revealed that there is an injury at the level of the spinal level, which requires a rest period of one week to ten days, to be evaluated afterwards.

“Nahda Burkan Club wishes a speedy recovery to coach Florent Ibenge, and also expresses their heartfelt thanks to the medical staff of Mohammed VI University Hospital.”

Ibenge is to miss the CAF Confederation Cup semifinals where Berkane will face TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo on May 8 and 15 for a place in the final.

The experienced gaffer comes from the Central African country where he was in-change of another  African football powerhouse AS Vita.
