Rwanda Rises Two Places in FIFA Rankings

Rwanda’s national football team Amavubi has risen in two places in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.

Rwanda’s national football team Amavubi has risen in two places in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.

Despite not being in action, Amavubi sit at position 135 and their hopes of rising further will depend on whether the Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) will secure a friendly match during the next FIFA friendly window in March.

Neighbors Uganda remain the best placed Eastern Africa country despite slumping down two places while Kenya dipped one place to 106.

On the other hand, Tanzania moved one place to position 137th followed by Burundi in 138th position while Ethiopia has maintained 151st position globally.

Meanwhile, Senegal remains the best ranked African country despite dipping one place to 24th while Tunisia has dropped two places down to 28th though remaining second in Africa.

Belgium continue to lead the world rankings ahead of last year’s World Cup winners France and Brazil, with no changes to the top 20 due to the lack of fixtures involving teams from the European and South American confederations.
