Scorpions coach Tom Sainfiet has named his provisional squad for the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Gabon.

Saintfiet’s boys face the Gabonese on 12th November away in Franceville with the return four days later at the Independence Stadium in Banjul.

The selection features a consistent pool of players who participated in the team’s training camp in Portugal where the Gambia beat Congo 1-0 in an international friendly.

Among those who have been given another chance to prove their worth is Salifu Senghore of LC Lhati and Boubacar Gaye of Rot Weiss Koblenx, who will be competing for the number one spot with FC Jeddah’s Modou Jobe and Italy-based Sheikh Dibi.

FC Bologna duo of Musa Barrow and Musa Juwara have also been retained in the squad alongside Italy-based  Omar Collley. Norway-based Sheriff Sinyan has been given a lifeline as well to prove his worth to the national team.

Bulgaria-based attacker Ali Sowe has been omitted from the squad,  same for Boavista’s striker Yusupha Njie while there is a return for Bubacarr Jobe who has just returned to action after recovering from an injury.
