Just when you think it couldn’t get any worse for African football Legends after the Yaya Toure debacle, another continent’s great has been suspended from his team.
Cameroonian International Samuel Eto’o has been dropped from the Antalyaspor squad after posting

along his long impressive CV on his Instagram account.
The former Barcelona player did not specify to whom his comments were addressed but recent criticisms from the club’s Chairman Ali Safak Ozturk made everyone suspect they were to him.
The Chairman had criticized Eto’o’s performance earlier in the season after the team’s poor start of the campaign saying, “No player is above the interests of Antalyaspor. Everyone must know his place.”
The club issued an official statement confirming that Eto’o had been dropped and would have a separate training program until the case was heard.
Eto’o later made another post denying his posts were targeting the club Chairman and even called Ozturk his brother before thanking the Turkish fans for the love they have showed him.
The 35-year-old striker went on to explain, “”My message was to a person who criticizes me unjustly for years and while he continues his criticisms, I kept winning trophies,””
Eto’o who joined Antalyaspor last year hasn’t been on good terms with the fans over the last few days after he was linked to their biggest rivals Besiktas. This surely won’t improve the relationship any time soon.
