Serge Aurier Agrees To Nottingham Forest Transfer

Serge Aurier has agreed to join English Premier League side Nottingham Forest, Ducor Sports can confirm.

The Ivory Coast international has verbally accepted a one-year contract with an option of a further one year to be part of Steve Cooper’s City Ground transformation.

The signing is not yet, complete, with formalities still to e carried out-but reports indicates that the defender passed medical on Friday.

Aurier became free agent after his short-term deal with Spanish giants Villarreal came to an end in July.

At his previous club, Aurier made a total of 24 appearances, but only started eleven and hardly played more than 1,000 minutes.

He had joined Villarreal from Tottenham Hotspurs where he made 69 appearances for Tottenham Hotspurs during his four years at the Premiership side.

He had moved to Hotspurs in August 2017 from Paris St-Germain in a deal that was held up by work permit complications as a result of the defender receiving a suspended sentence for assaulting a police officer a year before.

Aurier has represented the Ivory Coast at the 2014 World Cup and started every game when they won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015, scoring in the penalty shootout win over Ghana in the final.
