Simba Appoint Zoran Manojlovic As New Head Coach

Simba Sports Club have appointed Zoran Manojlović as their new head coach on a two-year deal with an option for a third year, the former Tanzania Mainland Premier League champions announced on Tuesday.

The 59-year-old  Serbian coach replaces Pablo Franco Martin who was sacked in May after the Spaniard and the club reached an agreement on his exit from the East African giants.

Manojlovic’s last job was with Saudi Arabian side Al Tai where his stay was cut short just four months following the club poor performance in the domestic league.

The Serbian gaffer has been tasked with guiding Simba to the next season’s CAF Confederation Cup final.

The Msimbazi Reds failed to retain their Tanzania Mainland Premier League title as they were dethroned by their archrivals Yanga.

Manojlovic is not new in Africa as he was in-charge of Tunisian giants CR Belouizdad before his move to Asia.

He also had stints with Sudanese Premier League giants Al Hilal Omdurman where he was fired due to poor results in the domestic league.

He was once in the books of Wydad Casablanca of Morocco and three Angolan clubs, notably Primieiro de Agosto from December 2017 to July 2019 and led them to the CAF Champions League semifinal in 2018.
