Red-hot Simba SC striker, Meddie Kagere, has promises fans of the club more fireworks when the Tanzania Premier League returns.

The Rwandese forward has been on everybody’s lips in Dar-es-Salaam for his accuracy at the front of the goal. Kagere has found the back of the net 19 goals times to help the Msimbazi Reds maintain top position on the table.

“I am a striker and my job is to score, I will make sure I score in every opportunity for my team. I won’t always score but I will try my level best to make sure every chance will be counted,” said Kagere in an interview with the club new website.

The 33-year-old joined Simba SC from Gor Mahia in June 2018 and has been impressive for the club so far.

Simba SC are on top of the table with 71 points after winning 23 matches out of 28, drawn two and lost three.

Azam FC, who had played the same number of matches, are second with 54 points after winning 16 games, drawing six and losing as many.

The Tanzania Premier League is set to resume on June 1 after the government gave a green light for sporting activities in the country to resume despite the coronavirus threat.
