After being bundled out of the CAF Champions League by Botswana’s Jwaneng Galaxy on away goal rule, Simba SC now shifts their focus to the second tier CAF Confederation Cup as a consolation.
The Msimbazi Reds, who were expected to sail to Champions League group stages, will know their opponents on Tuesday 26th October when the draw is conducted.
Among the possible opponent include Gor Mahia FC, Marumo Gallants, JS Saoura ,Red Arrows FC ,DC Motema Pembe ,Al Ahli Tripoli ,GD Interclube and Binga FC.
A pairing with Al Ahli Tripoli would provide a perfect room for revenge as the Libyan side bundled Biashara United Mara in the first preliminary stage.
The 32 teams will square it out in a two-legged tie with the winner and the winner on aggregate scores will go in for draw for the group stage.
The 16 teams, all winners of the play-off round of qualifying, will be drawn into four groups of four with each team facing the others in the group in a home and away round robin.
