Senegal sealed a passage to the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations in Tanzania after beating Cape Verde a whopping 6-0 in Dakar on Sunday.

The Junior Lions were given a standing ovation in the aftermath of the duel amid tumultuous fanfare.

It was a meeting that hosts Senegal were poised to come out top of proceedings and they did just as hoped, trouncing the Blue Sharks of the Republic of Cape Verde with six unanswered goals.

Sadio Diallo was man-of-the-match as Senegal qualified for the U-17 finals on the back of a brilliant campaign that took the format of a regional qualification.

The event was rocked by age-cheating-related issues after 20 players got deemed above the age bracket before the commencement of the championship.
