Slavko Matic: Accra Hearts Of Oak Appoint Serbian Coach

Ghana Premier League giants  Accra Hearts of Oak have appointed Slavko Matic as their new head coach on a two-year deal.

The Phobians were thought to have secured the services of a new coach to replace Samuel Boadu when several media houses reported Zambian gaffer George Lwandamina as the  preferred candidate for the position.

Accra Hearts of Oak have now confirmed on their social media pages, they have acquired the services of the much-travelled tactician.

“We are glad to have Slavko Matic as our new Head Coach,” the club statement revealed without giving more details on when the coach will arrive to take charge.

The 46-year-old gaffer will be assisted by David Ocloo, who was appointed in early October to lead the team through its CAF Confederation Cup matches against AS Real Bamako.

This will be Matic’s first job in Africa having previously managed teams in Serbia, China and Qatar among others.

His last coaching job was with Bulgarian second tier side Septemvri Sofia, a club he joined in early 2022.

During his playing career, between 1996 and 2006, Matic spent time with Spartak Moscow, Slavia Solvia and CSKA Moscow among others.
