Kenyan Premier League giants Sofapaka have announced the signing of Gor Mahia midfielder Lawrence Juma.
The experienced midfield maestro was reportedly a target of Moroccan Botola League side Moghreb Tetouan following his displays over the past two seasons attracted the attention of clubs across the continent.
However, the Batoto ba Mungu have now snapped up Juma as they prepare for the new 2020/21 season.
“We are pleased to have completed the signing of Harambee Stars midfielder Lawrence Juma. Juma has put pen to paper to a two-year deal ahead of the new season,” a club statement read.
“The midfielder joins us from Gor Mahia Football Club for the next two seasons.”
Juma is pleased to have joined Batoto ba Mungu and he is hoping to make a meaningful contribution at Sofapaka, who are expected to challenge for the BetKing Premier League title in the new term.
“I am pleased to be here, this a new chapter, new environment and am looking forward to a good time with the club. I can’t wait to get started,” said Juma.
Sofapaka have been active in the market, bringing in players who they feel can help them challenge for the league title next season.
The Kenyan international becomes the eighth signing with the club having completed the signings of Michael Kibwage Isacc Mitima, Michael Karamor, Michale Bodo, Kevin Omondi, Roy Okal and Paul Kiongera.
