South Africa’s head coach Hugo Broos has named a 34-man squad to start training ahead of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia.
Broos has retain a good percentage of squad that played against Zimbabwe and Ghana in the past two games, though he has included several recalls and new faces.
Orlando Pirates duo of striker Tshegofatso Mabaso and Vicent Pule have been included in the squad with while veteran fullback Sifiso Hlanti makes a return into the team.
Other notable inclusion in the squad include Thabani Zuke, Jesse Donn as well the Cape Town City duo of Terrence Mashego and Mduduzi Mdantsane.
Bafana Bafana will face Ethiopia on 9 October before welcoming the same opponents at FNB Stadium on 12 October.
Broos is expected to trim his squad to 23 players on Saturday, 25 October in an announcement that will be live on national television.
South Africa currently sit atop the Group G with four points after recording a draw against neighbours Zimbabwe in Harare in their opening match, before taking all three points at home following a 1-0 win over Ghana.
