South Africa’s 2 tier: Flying Start for Cape Town All Stars

It’s two wins in two games for Cape Town All Stars in the South African First Division, equivalent of the country’s second tier.

Cape Town won their previous game against Kwa-Zulu-Natal-based Richards Bay at the Althone Stadium with 23-year-old striker Nyembezi Lucky’s lone goal enough to do damage.

Highlands Park –who’d played a game more –are Cape Town’s closest nemesis but endured their first defeat of the new campaign to the University of Pretoria at the ABSA Turks Stadium.

However, they remain equal on points (six) with Cape Town who were tussling Witbank Spurs on Sunday at lunch time.

Ubuntu Cape Town couldn’t ride past Super Eagles with either side grinding out a 0-0 draw.

It was also a similar score between Richards Bay and Mthatha Bucks.

Tshakhuma Madzihadila laboured past Jomo Cosmos 1-0 as Real Kings smacked Mbombela United also by a goal to nothing.

In the 8 Cup, Super Sport are through to the finals after whacking Matrizburg United 3-1 on aggregate following a 2-0 win the second-leg courtesy of Australia international Jeremy Brokie’s brace.
