South Africa’s Pitso Mosimane Named New Al Ahli Jeddah Coach

Former Al Ahly coach Pisto Mosimane has been appointed as new coach of Saudi Arabian outfit Al Ahli Jeddah.

The 58-year-old South African gaffer has signed a two-year contract which will keep him at the Royals until 2024.

Mosimane left his position at Egyptian club Al Ahly in June after he failed to capture last season’s African title when they were beaten by Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca in the final.

He had enjoyed much success at the club as he clinched back-to-back CAF Champions League titles, two CAF Super Cups, the Egypt Cup, and two Club World Cup bronze medals.

Mosimane had joined the Red Devils from South African Premier League side Mamelodi Sundowns where he won a record five league titles, four domestic cups, as well as the CAF Champions League and CAF Super Cup.

Al Ahli Jeddah were relegated to Saudi second division at the end of last season after competing in the Pro League since 1937.

The Jeddah-based outfit currently lies in the seventh position with six points and Mosimane has been tasked to bring back glory to the team.
