South Africa Premier Soccer League giants, Mamelodi Sundowns have arrived in Tanzania ahead of their CAF Champions League Group B match against Algeria’s CR Belouizdad on Sunday.
The game between the two sides will take place at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam after CAF rescheduled the clash due to travel restrictions to Algiers owing to Covid-19.
Soon after landing at Julius Nyerere International Airport on Friday, coach Rhulani Mokwena said they are upbeat they will produce a favourable result.
Sundowns are currently sitting on top of Group B with three points after beating Sudanese team Al Hilal 2-0 home few weeks ago.
Mosa Lebusa and Kermit Erasmus scored the goals in the group opener, though the Brazilians really should have racked up a bigger scoreline, owing to their dominance.
On the other hand, Belouizdad come into the clash on the back of a promising 0-0 draw away to the DR Congo giants TP Mazembe.
The Algerian’s are expected to field their danger man Hamza Belahouel who has played eight games in all competitions and has netted six goals with coming from the CAF Champions League.
In head-to-head terms, this will be the first meeting of Belouizdad and Sundowns. Malian referee Boubou Traore will take charge of the match in the Tanzania’s capital on Sunday.
