Swedish top tier side IF Elfsborg  have made their first major signing by bringing in Timothy Noor Ouma from Nairobi City Stars.

The 18-year-old Kenyan midfielder  has joined the club for an undisclosed fee on a four-and-half year deal after receiving a work permit and passing a medical.

Ouma arrived in Stockholm on Tuesday ending his two seasons stay at City Stars, where he had extended his initial contract to 2025.

“Nairobi City Stars can confirm that after successful negotiations, Timothy’s move from Simba wa Nairobi to Swedish top-tier side IF Elsborg has been arrived at,” City Stars  CEO Patrick Korir told the club website.

“Babu was a standout at Nairobi City Stars in the just ended season and we thank him for his on-field returns that made him a great attraction, his commitment and dedication to the team.

“He has our full blessings, and on behalf of Nairobi City Stars and supporters, we wish him the very best in his new endeavor at IF Elfsborg.” added Korir.

Ouma was immediately unveiled at Elfsborg which was the previous home of Kenyan defender Joseph Okumu who is currently in the books of Belgian outfit, Genk.

“It feels fantastic to be here! Everything is new to me – but the arena and the surroundings here are very good. Now I’m looking forward to meeting my new teammates,” he told the club’s media.

“I have seen a few matches Elfsborg played and think it looks good. I have always wanted to play in Europe and like the team’s style of play. I am impressed by the players, and think I will fit in well here, he added.

Ouma started his football journey at Laiser Hill Academy before being signed by Nairobi City Stars where in the past season he scored 7 goals and provided 8 assists in 29 appearances.
