Sylvain Gbohouo: Futuro Kings Set To Sign Ivorian Goalkeeper

Futuro Kings have agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Sylvain Gbohouo on a free transfer following his recent release by TP Mazembe.

Gbohouo will undergo medical on Friday ahead of signing a two-year deal with Equatorial Guinean top-flight outfit.

The 32-year-old is available after leaving TP Mazembe following his expiration of his contract at the end of the season.

Gbohouo will likely be back to continental football if the Malabo-based side gets past South Africa Premier League outfit Marumo Giants in CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round fixture.

The highly rated shot-stopper intended move ends transfer speculations as he was previously linked with a move to Ghana Premier League outfit Medeama SC.

He is now set to become Futuro Kings’ first signing since they finished second in the Equatorial Guinea top-flight outfit.

Gbohouo won the Democratic Republic of Congo domestic league five times, Super Coupe du Congo thrice, CAF Champions League once, CAF Confederation Cup twice and CAF Super Cup once.

He arrived at Mazembe in 2015 on a five year contract but lost his place in recent months to the benefit of Malian Ibrahim Mounkoro.

He has been Ivory Coast national team goalkeeper and was part of the Elephants squad that won the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
