Belgian domestic league top scorer Mbwana Ally Samatta looks headed for Turkey amid interest from Fenerbache.
The Super Lig giants are on a free fall, the Yellow Canaries’ worst decline in decades as they go about in the search for a lethal scorer having dropped to 17th in the table standings.
Their purchase of Saldado, Islam Sliman and Ghana’s Andre Ayew only seem to be burdens in their paybooks after the trio failed to spark the club to life amid streak of unprepossessing displays.
Chairman Ali Koc is desperate to see an end to his club’s downward trajectory, which by the days is becoming inevitable, and has set about grabbing any good scorer, with cash expected to be the least of the side’s worries.
Consequently, Samatta has become a priority transfer target for the Istanbul-based outfit and are willing to move heaven and earth to land their man, according to Turkish publication Kramson Sport.
The ex-TP Mazembe hot-shot is a sought-after property in the transfer market with Fulham, Huddersfield Town, Monaco touted with securing the attacker’s signature.
But Turkey now appears to be his next destination with Fenerbache reported to be keen in activating his release clause including matching Genk’s £10m meet price tag.
Levante and CSK Moscow have previously enquired over the availability of the Taifa Stars’ playmaker.
Samatta’s current deal with Genk, renewed last month, elapses June 2021.
The future of Ally is a much discussed one as he edges closer to sealing a move this January.
