Tanzania Coach Issues a War Cry Ahead of Harambee Stars Game

Tanzania national team coach Ndayiragije Etienne says his team will be seeking revenge when they play Kenya in a 2020 CHAN qualification match in Dar Es Salaam on Sunday 28th July.

Tanzania national team coach Ndayiragije Etienne says his team will be seeking revenge when they play Kenya in a 2020 CHAN qualification match in Dar Es Salaam on Sunday 28th July.

The two teams face-off again, weeks after squaring out at the African Cup of Nations in Egypt where Kenya stunned Taifa Stars after coming back from a goal down to beat the then Emmanuel Amunike coached side.

Amunike has since left the team and Etienne, who’s the Azam FC coach appointed on an interim basis. His first assignment will be against Kenya and he says it’s their time to revenge.

“It’s time to get our revenge against them. When we played them in Egypt we created many scoring chances which we failed to utilize and we ended up losing. So it’s about making those chances count and get our revenge,” he stated.

On his team’s preparations, Ettiene said they have prepared well by working on the psychological part. The team has also been boosted by the arrival of Simba players who have been in South Africa where Simba is camping for pre-season.

“The preparations has been good, we were waiting for Simba players to join the team (from South Africa where the team is camping) and they have arrived so we are set for the game. We’ve taken time to try and uplift them psychologically because we have to approach the game when prepared both physically and mentally, ” he added.
