Cameroon national team head coach Antonio Conceiçao da Silva Oliveira has began a new phase of revamping the Indomitable Lions squad.
The Portuguese trainer has handed debut call-ups to ten players for next month’s friendly against Japan that will be played in the Netherlands.
Stoke City’s Blondy Noukeu and Bourg-en-Bresse ‘s Boris Essele are the new gloves men that have been drafted in the squad.
Lille’s Onana Jean, Eteki Brice Yan of Granada, Neyoy Yvan of St Etienne, Ndenge William of FC Lucerne and Oum Gouet Samuel who turns for SC Rheindorf Altach are the new midfielders in the squad.
Franck Evina of Hannover, Tabekou Serge of Mouscron and Ayuk Eric of Osmanlispor are the new faces in the attack line, where they will partner with experienced duo of Toko Ekambi of Lyon and Aboubakar Vincent of FC Porto.
Torino’s midfielder Nicolous Nkoulou is the notable inclusion into the team that will be in camp in the Netherlands from 5th to 13th October 2020.
Nkoulou had decided to take a break from international club and devote himself to his club after winning the 2017 African Cup of Nations in Gabon.
Notable omission in the squad is the best player of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Cristian Bassogog together with captain Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
Cameroon will be using the friendly to prepare for their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers that will begin in June next year.
The qualifiers were due to begin in October, but the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic forced the authorities to reshuffle the African international football calendar.
