Thiong’o: AFC Leopards Confirm Winger Arrival

Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards have secured the services of former Kakamega Homeboyz winger Peter Thiong’o.

The 20-year-old midfielder was a free agent and opted not to extend his contract with the Western Kenya-based outfit.

Ducor Sports broke the news of Thiong’o’s imminent departure from Homeboyz three months ago, though at that time the player was rumoured to be heading to Wazito FC.

However, the player has joined 13-time Kenyan champions where he has put pen to paper on a two-year deal.

“AFC Leopards is delighted to confirm the signing of winger Peter Thiong’o from Kakamega Homeboyz on a 2-year contract,” Leopards revealed on their official Twitter account.

Thiong’o joined Homeboyz two seasons ago from National Super League outfit St. Joseph FC and previously turned for St Joseph FC.

His efforts in past Kenyan Premier League season included 8 goals in 15 appearances before the league was annulled following the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Thiong’o was a match-winner in several occasions as Homeboyz settled for a respectable second position on the table.
