Tignyemb Threatens To Take On Chippa United Over Delayed Dues

Cameroonian goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb has threatened to sue South Africa Premier Soccer League side Chippa United to FIFA over delayed payments.

Cameroonian goalkeeper Patrick Tignyemb has threatened to sue South Africa Premier Soccer League side Chippa United to FIFA over delayed payments.

Tignyemb was dismissed by the Chilli Boys in December last year with an agreement that the club would pay his salary for a certain period.

The custodian says his efforts to reach the Port Elizabeth based outfit over the issue have proved futile as his calls have gone unanswered and has now threatened to report the club to FIFA in order to get justice.

“I am not part of Chippa anymore. They have not even given me my clearance. They owe me a lot of money. My lawyers and SAPFU are handling that issue. If they don’t pay, we will take them to FIFA,” Tignyemb told reporters.

The 34-year-old custodian joined Chippa from Bloemfontein Celtic in July last year after spending more than a decade at Siwelele.

His ties with Celtic were cut by the Premier Soccer League side after demanding unpaid bonuses from the club.

The temperamental keeper at that time made it clear that he would only consider reconciling with Celtic if chief executive Khumbulani Konco vacated his post.
