Township Rollers Part Company With Head Coach After Six Months

Botswana Premier League side Township Rollers have parted company with head coach Tomas Trucha by mutual consent.

Botswana Premier League side Township Rollers have parted company with head coach Tomas Trucha on mutual consent.

The 48-year-old coach has been in charge of the Blues since June 2019 when he succeeded Rodolfo Zapata.

Trucha’s departure from the Jamali Stadium follows a run of just one win in the last five matches.

His assistant Zachariah Muzadzi has been appointed as interim head coach of the Blues, who are fourth on the table.

“Township Rollers Football Club and head coach Tomas Trucha have agreed to amicably part ways and terminate Mr Trucha’s employment contract,” reads a statement signed by club chairman Walter Kgabung.

“In doing so, both parties have agreed to treat the matter with respect, and as such we prefer not to divulge the internal dynamics that led to the decision.”

Trucha’s final game in charge of the Blues was a fortnight ago where the side was held to a 1-1 draw by Botswana Defence Forces in a Botswana Premier League round 14 fixture.

Township Rollers, who have won once in their last five games, face Notwane in their next Premiership game to be played on January 12, 2020 at National Stadium in Gaborone.
