Tunisia Coach Praises Cisse and Senegal

Tunisia national team coach, Alain Giresse, has congratulated his Senegal counterpart Aliou Cisse for qualifying for the African Cup of Nations final at the expense of his side.

Senegal knocked out the Carthage Eagles on Sunday courtesy of a Dylan Bronn own goal in extra time. In his post-match interview, the former Mali and Senegal boss congratulated Cisse and the Lions of Teranga.

“I and Aliou enjoy a great friendship, he’s managed to create an excellent team with a fantastic generation of players for Senegal. I want to congratulate Senegal and him for what they have achieved. I hope he succeeds,” he said.

“This was a tough game and would have gone either way. We wanted to be in a better place but that’s how the game is. We tried our best but it didn’t turn out as we wanted. We will fight another day. This is the beauty of football,” he added.

Tunisia will play Nigeria in the third position play-off on Wednesday.
