Tunisia Football Federation (TFF) are in the hunt for a replacement after sacking Alain Giresse as coach of the Carthage Eagles.

The TFF announced the departure of the erstwhile Mali gaffer but without explanation over the decision.

The 66-year-old French-born’s deal was due to run out in June next year prior to his release today.

It comes after Tunisia finished as semi-finalists in the recent Africa Cup of Nations – a feat the TFF is the least impressed with.

Giresse opted to join the North Africans after quitting Mali’s managerial helm having failed to get them qualifying for the World Cup.

Rumour of Alain’s departure surfaced Tuesday evening with French tabloid L’equippe hinting trouble is looming over the coach’s head.
