Tunisia Lands in Gabon for Nations Cup

Tunisia’s national team has landed in Francoville for the Africa Cup of Nations, according to the North African country’s football federation.

The Carthage Eagles upon touching down, were greeted by an army of local fans and dancing troops waiving the flags at the airport.

The North African outfit under Polish and former Monaco manager Henryk Wojciech Kasperczak, are seeded in group B comprising rivals Algeria, Zimbabwe and Senegal.

They play a day after the tournament’s opener with the Taranga Lions their first opponent.

The 2004 champions will be looking to down a star-littered Senegalese side to put their Afcon campaign on a firm footing.

Algeria will be Tunisia’s second fixture four days later before squaring Zimbawe January 23rd in Libreville.

Tunisia’s 23-men squad:

Goal keeppers : Aymen Mathlouthi, Rami Jridi, Moez Ben Chrifia

Defenders : Ali Maaloul, Hamza Mathlouthi, Syam Ben Youssef, Mohamed Ali Yaacoubi, Aymen Abdennour, Chamseddine Dhaouadi, Slimane Kchok, Hamdi Nagguez, Zied Boughattas

Midfielders: Ferjani Sassi, Larry Azouni, Naim Sliti, Wahbi Khazri, Mohamed Amine Ben Amor, Ahmed Khalil, Hamza Lahmar

Strikers: Youssef Msakni, Taha Yassine Khenissi, Ahmed Akaichi, Sabeur khelifa.
