Tunisian FA Considering Banning Two Players for Life

Tunisian based players Mahdi Gaddana and Bilel Galbi are at risk of getting banned for life from the football.

Mahdi Gaddana and Bilel Galbi could kiss goodbye to football as they risk getting banned for life from the sport.

The pair, under contract with Club Sportif de Korba, physically assaulted an arbiter during one of their games in the Tunisian second tier.

In a heated match that turned ugly amid a near free-for-all-fight, Mahdi and Galdi made for the referee and allegedly subjected him to vicious assaults.

Details of the incident were captured in the match commissioner’s dossier and submitted to the league’s Organising Committee who have strongly recommended to the FA for heavy sanctions including a ban from the sport for life.

Club Sportif de Korba were initially supportive of the duo before swiftly announcing they would launch a separate investigation of their own into the incident and have gone ahead to suspend the stars pending the conclusion of their probing.

A third man from the club, believed to be Mohamed Nabil, part of the team’s technical bench, has been issued with a six-match ban with a further 2,000 dinars fine for his purported involvement in the melee.

In a separate but related development, Esperance de Zarzis’ coach Mohamed Miladi has also incurred a two-game ban and 1,500 dinars fine for vigorously protesting from the touchline.
