CS Sfaxien, a Tunisian Premier League outfit, risks incurring the wrath of Africa’s football governing body after their officials allegedly attacked a referee.

Sfaxien lost to Morocco’s Berkane in Rabat in the semis of the Total CAF Confederation Cup.

A video went viral capturing umbraged team officials and players making for Senegalese referee Maguette Ndiaye and his assistant in chaotic scenes in the aftermath of the duel as bottles and projectiles were thrown onto the pitch.

Ndiaye, however, denied reports of being attacked but confirmed his assistant was assaulted.

Aware the football governing body has sat over their issue with sanctions looming, Sfaxien are preparing a defense.

Reports monitored in Tunis say the club’s board held a meeting and have gathered what they consider to be evidence ahead of being called to explain their side of the story.
