Tusker Keeper Mvuyekure Linked With South Africa Move

Tusker keeper Mvuyekure linked with South Africa move.

The South Africa Premier Soccer League giants Orlando Pirates are known to have a new shot-stopper at the top of their wanted list when the transfer window opens again and Rwandan international Emery Mvuyekure has been mentioned as a target.

Reports are claiming they have been in touch with an unnamed super-agent in the hope he will be able to engineer a move from Ruaraka to Orlando Stadium.

Tusker experienced an indifferent season where they finished third in Kenyan Premier League but the performance of Mvuyekure was impressive.

The Rwandese international has managed to keep 10 clean sheets in 21 league appearances, and such form has caught the eye of Bucs scouts.

Pirates are in the hunt for a new goalkeeper following some disappointing performances by their experienced shot-stopper Wayne Sandiland, who has been dropped from the side in favour of Siyabonga Mpontshane.

There has been constant speculation suggesting he has fallen out with Josef Zinnbauer, something that has been denied by the Bucs boss.

Mvuyekure has been linked with a move to Tanzania on more than one occasion but Tusker have so far managed to keep hold of him, and they are sure to do all they can to rebuff any fresh approaches.

The 30-year old joined Tusker in November 2018 replacing Patrick Matasi, who moved to Ethiopian giants St. Georges.

Mvuyekure has previously played for APR FC and Police FC in his native Rwanda.

He received his first call-up in the senior national team since 2014 and in March last year, Mvuyekure made it to Amavubi squad that faced Ivory Coast in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
