Uganda Coach: Lack of Experience Cost Us

Uganda’s Sebastien Desabre blamed lack of experience for his team’s exit of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

Uganda’s coach Sebastien Desabre blamed lack of experience for his team’s exit from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

Sadio Mane’s moment of brilliance was the difference-maker despite the East Africans’ spirited fight but Sebastien says Senegal were the standout side.

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] “Lack of experience cost us this defeat. We started in a bad way because there was a lot of pressure on our players. The mistake we did cost us much because it came in front of a player like Sadio Mane.”   [/perfectpullquote]

The Crane rallied late to put up a solid fight back but failed to get past the Taranga Lions backline on each occasion.

“After the goal we conceded, we were better and had many chances but unfortunately Senegal was better than us.”

“We were not far from qualification against the best side in this tournament, Senegal. We did well and played beautiful football, and Uganda is a team with brilliant future,” he told the media.

Uganda qualified from a group which comprised hosts Egypt having finished second best on four points ahead of DR Congo and Zimbabwe.
