Uganda team head coach Milutin Sredojevic has named a final 25-man squad to face Rwanda in the next international break as Cranes aim for maximum point in back-to-back 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
The Serbian coach named a 33-man provisional squad a week ago for these qualifiers, but has now reduced his group to 25 as he did in September.
The former Zamalek tactician dropped his captain Emmanuel Okwi and striker Derrick Nsibambi for lack of match fitness.
Okwi who started in the last two games against Kenya and Mali has been without a club for a few months while Nsibambi is yet to settle at his new club Sidama Coffee SC of Ethiopia.
The Cranes take on the Amavubi on 7 October at the Kigali Stadium before travelling to Kampala for the reverse fixture at the St Mary’s Stadium.
Reports indicate that Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA)’s request to have fans at the stadium was rejected by Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Uganda Cranes started their campaign with a goalless draw away to Kenya, before they fired blanks in the 0-0 draw against Mali at the St. Marys Stadium, Kitende.
