Bevis Mugabi has penned a one-year contract extension with Motherwell, keeping him at Scottish Premiership outfit until the summer of 2021.

The Ugandan international joined the Dossers from England’s National League side Yeovil Town Football Club in September on a six-month contract.

He deservedly earned a new deal after he impressed the technical bench during his initial short-term contract, scoring one goal in four outings.

Speaking on the club’s official website, the 24 year old defender, who was born in Harrow to Ugandan parents said;

“I’m delighted to be staying with the club,” Mugabi said after agreeing to stay.

Having pledged his future to the Dossers, Mugabi, who represented Uganda in 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, will be eager to repay Robinson’s trust with a better showing this season.

“Bevis gives us another fantastic option in defence and has taken to Scottish football with ease,” manager Stephen Robinson said. “We’re pleased he’s agreed to stay with us.”
