Uganda Football Chief’s Two Months Suspension Over

Uganda FA (FUFA) president Moses Magogo’s two months suspension from all football-related activity at national and international level has come to an end.

Uganda FA (FUFA) president Moses Magogo’s two months suspension from all football-related activity at national and international level has come to an end.

Magogo was handed two months ban by FIFA on October 10 for reselling tickets relating to the 2014 World Cup.

The lean penalty was imposed after he entered into a plea bargain with the organization with a $10,000 fine.

The FIFA ethics committee took action into Magogo’s act following a petition filed by Makindye West MP Allan Ssewanyana in 2017.

Magogo admitted to the error which “was inherited from previous regimes” that were in charge of the East African country’s football before he came to office.

The world football governing body opened investigations into the mater on July 23 last year, whereby it collected more evidence from several witnesses.

In that petition, Ssewanyana questioned the integrity and moral authority of Magogo, accusing him of violating and breaching FIFA statutes and code of ethics and disciplinary code under articles 13, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22.

Ssewanyana presented evidence showing that the tickets were designated for Ugandans but instead found their way into the black market through a US-based company Howard Schwartz.
