Uganda national team head coach Jonathan McKinstry has announced his final 25-man squad for the 2020 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN).
The Cranes mentor has named a solid team that will take part in the tournament in Cameroon this month.
Uganda will make their fourth appearance at the championship and coach McKinstry has called up players to challenge for the trophy.
Uganda Premier League champions Vipers dominate the pack of players with six players led by Halid Lwaliwa, who has been named the captain of the side.
KCCA quartet of goalkeeper Charles Lukwago, defender Denis Iguma, midfielder Bright Anukani, and striker Brian Aheebwa have won a spot in the team owing to their performance in recent Uganda Premier League games.
Surprise exclusions from the squad include BUL FC red-hot striker Joseph Ssemujju and URA defender Ashraf Mandela.
Cranes are currently in Cameroon where they are playing build-up matches as part of the preparations for the CHAN tournament that will take place from 16 January to 7 February 2021.
Uganda is in Group C alongside defending champions Morocco, neighbours Rwanda and newcomers Togo.
Their first match will be against Rwanda before playing the Hawks of Togo and final match against Morocco.
