Ugandan Gaffer Negotiating Compensation after Quitting Club

Coach Asaph Mwebaze has ceased overseeing Uganda Premier League outfit Onduparaka and is negotiating a compensation fee.

Coach Asaph Mwebaze has ceased overseeing Uganda Premier League outfit Onduparaka and is negotiating a compensation fee.

Mwebaze departed the Arua-based side – formed seven years ago – on mutual consent.

The decision followed a string of unprepossessing displays and on the back of a 2-1 loss to Maroons, the team’s first defeat in four outings.

Having failed to show his worth and stamp his footmarks on the club, Asaph has decided to end his love affair with the team on mutual consent.

He is now locked in negotiations with club chairman Benjamin Nyakun over a compensation fee.

His exit also reels in after he went AWOL for three days resurfacing only to announce his resignation

“I’m no longer the head coach of Onduparaka FC.”

“We have mutually agreed with the club chairman Benjamin Nyakun to end our marriage or contract,” he told Ugandan Sports phone-in programme NTV dubbed The Press Box.

Simeon Massa is tipped to occupy the managerial helm on a temporary basis.

Elsewhere in Kenya, English coach Dylan Kerr has landed a new job after departing league champions Gor Mahia.

The 51-year-old joins South African outfit Black Leopards.
