Ugandan midfielder Khalid Aucho has joined Egyptian Premier League side Misr Lel Makkasa Sporting Club.

The former Gor Mahia midfield maestro signed the deal on Sunday morning after a short stint at Indian Premier League side Churchill Brothers.

The 26-year-old went separate ways with Indian outfit by mutual agreement where contractual and pay worries by all interested parties were met.

Aucho comes to in to bolster the hearts of Misr Lel Makkasa midfield, which was predominantly occupied by Hany Said and Shimelis Bekele, with the likes of Eric Traore also getting the occasional run.

Since leaving Gor Mahia in 2016, Aucho, who also had a stint with Tusker, has been on some sort of a journey as he has signed for five different clubs, including Serbian heavyweights Red Star Belgrade in 2017.

Aucho was part of history-making Uganda Cranes team that qualified for Round 16 of the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations where they narrowly lost to Senegal.

He joins compatriots Derrick Nsibambi and Daniel Isiagi in the Egyptian Premier League.

Uganda now has several professional players featuring in different leagues in Africa like South Africa, Kenya, Morocco, Tanzania and Botswana.
